Pet Application

If you have pets, you will need to submit a pet application for approval before bringing the pet into your home. We have a two-pet limit and there is a $300 nonrefundable deposit plus $25/mo for the pet, unless you own your own home.

If you plan to have an animal with you in the home (whether a pet, service animal, etc.), you will need to complete an online application for approval. There is a fee of $25 for pets, but no charge for emotional support or service animals. To fill out the application, click here.

Service Animal

Our company supports the right of residents to have a service or emotional support animal. The ADA gives a clear definition of a service animal. You can read that description here. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development also has clear guidelines for what may, and may not, be considered a service animal or emotional support animal in this document. Please note, North Carolina considers it a criminal offense to represent a pet as a Service Animal or Emotional Support Animal falsely. If convicted, this can mean financial penalties and even jail time.

If you need to have a Service Animal, we ask that you read and sign the sample letter below and submit to us requesting the approval of a service dog with our standard pet fees waived. (If you need to modify the letter, you can download an editable Word version.) Included with the letter must be written verification from your health care provider on their company letterhead explaining how your Service Animal has been trained to assist you with your disability.

Please note that any animal that exhibits aggressive or dangerous behavior toward other human beings will be prohibited from our property, no exceptions allowed.

Emotional Support Animals

If you need to have an Emotional Support Animal, we ask that you read and sign this sample letter and submit to us requesting the approval of a service dog with our standard pet fees waived. (If you need to modify the letter, you can download an editable version here.) Included with the letter must be written verification from your mental health care provider on their company letterhead (i.e., a licensed therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist, not your family doctor unless they are responsible for treating you for your disability) explaining how your Emotional Support Animal will assist you with your disability.

While all animals provide the benefit of emotional support to their owners, we are only able to waive pet fees and deposits on those animals that have been prescribed as necessary from a licensed mental healthcare professional.

Please note that any animal that exhibits aggressive or dangerous behavior toward other human beings will be prohibited from our property, no exceptions allowed.
