Electric

Duke Energy provides electric power for the area in Shelby and Kings Mountain. If you are not currently a Duke Power customer, then you may need to pay a refundable deposit depending on your credit score when you establish service (maximum of $250). Duke will refund your deposit after 12 months if you pay your bills on time. You may also have an individual who already has Duke Energy service to be a guarantor for your new account in order to waive the required deposit. Call Duke Energy for more information.

Rutherford Electric

​

Rutherford Electric provides power in the Gastonia area. They are located at 2690 Bessemer City Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052. To sign up for service call (704) 629-6226.

Water

​

Cleveland County Water provides water and sewer service in the Shelby and Kings Mountain area . Their initial deposit is $110. They will credit this back on your final water bill when you move and/or mail you a check. To establish water service, call 704-538-9033. You will need to take a copy of your rental agreement or a receipt showing you have paid first month's rent to turn on water.

Aqua Water
